Finally got around to cleaning and inspecting the front hubs. The bearings didn't look bad and cleaned up well. However, both outer bearing races were loose in the hub. Not cool!! New hubs are not cheap. This drove me to do a little research, Loctite makes a couple products for just this scenario. Just ordered a small bottle of Loctite 680. Worth a try for $17.

prep consisted of wire wheel and carb cleaner. In the first pics I had used Crylon satin. Didn’t like that so I went over satin with matte. Will post pictures later of the hubs.

Outer bearing race in both hubs are loose. Not sloppy but can be removed by hand. Should have the Loctite 680 I ordered tomorrow. Should fix the problem.

Passenger side. Top ball joint needed an offset bushing for zero camber. Both sides check out with digital level.

Once the hud bearing races are good to go I hope to have it back together this weekend. Already made an appointment at the alignment shop for next Friday morning.

Looking good. Hopefully the alignment shop has an old timer ( like me) that knows what the hell he's doing while setting your truck. Get a print out of before and after measurements. Good luck

Just found out the Loctite 680 I ordered Tuesday didn’t ship until yesterday. Was supposed to be here yesterday. Looks like I am in holding pattern until it gets here. Bummer.

Be sure and ask for the print out, if he is an old timer. I ALWAYS forgot to do the before printout. Then I couldn't show what i actually did, DUH!!! But than again I am old and slow(and forgetful)

Diff is full of fresh gear oil, tie-rod and steering stabilizer installed. That’s all we can do until the Loctite for the wheel hub outer races arrives.
