Installed oil pressure switch and wired it into the relay control ground for the day time drive lights. Now the lights come on when the engine starts.

Went back and painted the raised style lines on engine cover. I think that ties it all together nicely.

Removed tool box and tie down rails. Then straightened the front bed panel.

ah you suck now I gotta do it lol. I don't really like the cover cuz it's only a "pretty" thing. With the covers you made....looks great.

Cab trim fell off along time ago. 15+ years ago. But the tool box covered that area so I didn’t worry about it. With the tool box removed the trim needed to be reinstalled.

Just a couple out side pics without tool box. I like it without the tool box. My boys aren’t to sure about it yet. They have never seen it without the box.

For about a month now I have been hearing a lot of lifter noise during cold startups and the oil pressure is slow to come up, like I had just changed the oil. Tried a different oil filter think the drain back valve was bad, it wasn’t. Engine is still making noise at startup with replacement filter. Yesterday I took it for drive and heard lifter noise while driving, it did quite down eventually. I called my nephew who is an engine builder and he told me before I complete the whole story that it most likely that the seal in the cam plate had failed. So I am digging into the engine now to check it out.

Well, with the front cover and spark plugs removed, spinning the engine over with the starter yielded no oil pressure or leak at suspected cam plate. Next I removed the oil filter and turned engine over, still no oil. At this point it’s looking like a plugged pickup tube, bad pick up tube o-ring or bad oil pump. More FD tomorrow.

The pump could have a jammed relief valve also.. if it got some junk in it it can jam up like that. If it isn't that front cam plate, the other side of that oil gallery is plugged by the rear cover, so it could be that as well. I would recommend replacing the oil bayonet plug and rear main seal while you have the rear cover off if you make it that far.

I had the transmission go out on my 2011 Suburban over the 4th of July weekend. It was also getting low oil pressure and throwing a code. I'm pretty sure my issue was the sending unit and screen, but I also had a nasty leak from the back of the motor. So while I have the trans out, I pulled the rear cover last night and have changed the bayonet plug, resealed the bottom of the cover(that's where the majority of the leak was coming from), installed a new cover gasket, and will put a new main seal in while I'm at it. I also had a very minor weeping leak coming from the outer bottom of the main seal(which I thought was an odd place for it to leak). Hopefully tonight I can finish the rear cover replacement and start her up to check the oil pressure and do a few other engine related things while I'm waiting on two replacement molded pistons to come in for the transmission rebuild.
