Center/carrier bearing orientation - 76 C20 suburban

Heard a clinking noise while running around testing the new build/motor. I think the culprit is the dust guard moving around that I put on the new carrier bearing I installed. Not sure If I was supposed to include that but any ideas on how its supposed to be installed? I could maybe epoxy it against the bearing so it stays in place? Also, I noticed after taking these pictures that my bearing is installed in the up orientation rather than upside down like i see in most pictures. Is that a suburban thing or did I screw this up? Pretty sure I installed it the same as I took it out. Plus I believe there is a section of x pipe right underneath that which would make it impossible to install the other way.

Remove the dust cover, and add some grease to protect the bearing.
Everything you put on the driveshaft could cause an imbalance.
The rear dust cover is pressed on, not super tight but it's not coming loose normally. The front one is between the bearing and the thick part of the driveshaft.

Is this bearing the right part?

Bearing kits contain sometimes more dust covers as they are used on multiple vehicles and not all of them should be used.
There are directional and non directional bearings.
There are bearings that don't use a separate dust cover.

It should be the right one. I initially bought a unit that was to small and had to order another from rock auto. I will have to take the drive shaft out and press it off if I remember correctly.
It doesnt look upside down though correct?

Those dust covers just move completely freely and do not seem to press on. At speed over 20-30 they make a loud clinking sound
That's not how it should be. That would wear through stuff pretty fast and the noise.

Ok well what about it being upside down or not? Most of the pictures ive seen are with it installed a different way. Just want to make sure this doesnt fall apart after a few more miles on the road.
Guess I will take it apart to get the dust cover right at the least

It`s mounted in the right direction.

The way I remember the carrier bearing being on the '84 and the '90 Burbs, the dust cover was a metal part that threads onto the external threads on the driveshaft. The zerk/grease fitting is on that shaft, and that was something I hit every grease job.
