Ok so I got the engine and tranny installed and I was lining up the driveshaft to make sure I could use the old one. Length looks really close but cant say for sure because the yoke that was on the th350 is too small for the 4l80. Anyone know if I can just get a new yoke or do I need to get the whole driveshaft? I guess the question is "will a 4l80e yoke work with a driveshaft from a th350"?
The LSX Innovations plates move the engine forward like an inch, or 1.5. Then the 80E is 31 1/2 " long, a long TH350 is 30 5/8" . The yoke from a TH400 is longer I believe as well, so.. IN theory, yes you should be able to put your yoke on the driveshaft and rock and roll.
Now, that said, the keyboard warriors will tell you that you'll exceed the speed of the stock shaft, and die. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, but for me, locally, I can have a high speed balanced all new driveshaft for 300 bucks. SO your call.
