Good to catch that stuff now. I wish I had put a cam in mine when I had it apart. Just wasn’t in the budget.

Just rechecked my u-joint working angles. 11 degrees at each end. Definitely need a double Cardan joint. Will do some calling around this week. On another note, I made 200 mile round trip run on the highway at approximately 63 mph and averaged 15 mpg.

Finally broke down and ordered a double Cardan rear drive shaft from Tom Woods. Should be here this time next week.

Just received notification from UPS that my drive shaft shipped. Expected arrival date of 7/23. That’s awesome. Sure hope it performs better than the drive shaft I had built in Texarkana.

Given the reputation of Tom Woods stuff I would suspect if there is an issue it lies along other pieces of the drivetrain, lol....

Removed 4 degree shims from rear leaf springs bringing the pinion back up so it now points to just below the transfer case out put shaft. This was done in preparation for Tom Woods double Cardan shaft. Then I went out and picked up an 86 military truck for my nephew.

I’m thinking about doing the same with my drive shaft, I got s slight vibration, drives me nuts everyone that rides with me doesn’t feel it lol

Just got my 5.3 back in my truck changed the cam bearings and put the new cam in sounds amazing

Out with the bad and in with good! First rip down the highway at 75 was great. No vibe. It was a short run so I will get a better feel for it running it to work this week. So far I am thrilled.
