Fans are here!!! A big shout out to Brandon of Camaro & Firebird Motorsports (501-281-0844) in Searcy Arkansas. Had the fan on hand and shipped to my front door for $120. Give him a call for LS1 related parts. Plan is to get started on the fan install tomorrow.

Dude I was literally just researching fans for my truck, and then I checked here before bed and see this. What are the odds?

Fabbed up a mounting frame for the fans. It uses the factory fan shroud mounting locations. This way if I have to reinstall the old belt driven fan it will not be a problem. Had to trim a bit of the plastic electric fan shroud to make it mount flat on the steel frame. Ran out of time to run the truck but will tomorrow.

It’s all wired up and works with the low speed override switch and runs on high when I turn the ac on. Like I said above, I will run the truck engine tomorrow and see about pcm fan control temps. Last thing to figure out is how secure the upper radiator hose.

Fabed up an upper radiator hose bracket which completed the installation. Ran the truck at idle in the shop with fans on low, temp at input side of radiator was 180 and 110 on output side. Not to bad. Ran the ac and the fans on high. Coolant temp stayed the same and ac output inside the cab was 39. Not to shabby.

Next item that needs attention is the intake tube.

It was 100 degrees when i left work today. Great test for the electric fans. With AC on high and running down the road at 60 mph the engine temp stayed around 180. Even at the few stops I have along the way the engine temp stayed at 180 and the AC continued to blow cold. Also, when I got home I turned the AC off and the low speed override switch off to see if the pcm would control the fans. It did, the fans turned on low at approximately 190 and off at about 185. I ordered an cold air intake late last night, once installed the truck is ready to get tuned. Hopefully that will happen sometime in September.

Took a little fab work to make it fit but that is half the fun.

Why is that harness so desirable?
I ran the low and the HI off the ECU with relays off the ground input. And made a little wiring setup. Didn’t take long

Still got some cleanup to do. But gotta finish the Oil pressure gauge n the speedo.
Oh n ac when I can afford the aftermarket air setup.

I like the frame for the fans. Might make something similar myself.

I used the 05 truck fan control harness because its available for $20. Was going to build one, but this was easier.
