    not necessarily a bad switch or vacuum problem. Just the vacuum is running at +/- the cut out point of the switch. Their is a black and blue delay valve that may help.

    the resistor is built into the dash harness if you have gauges or runs through the idiot light that acts like a resistor.

    the lock up converter is controlled through a vacuum switch. if you engine is producing the amount of vacuum it takes to just trip the switch it could cause it to cycle and engage and disengage the lockup . mine will on just the rite incline.

    need to check the fuel pump. if it leaks i can leak into the engine causing thin oil pressure problems etc. fuel pumps are cheep just change it if in doubt.. and change the oil again. you dont want gas in your oil

    15 on a hot motor isnt bad. low oil pressure on hot idle is a common complaint on a sbc. my motor is getting tired so i installed a hv oil pump trying to buy time. it will start with 60 at idle cold when it gets hot 30-40 on the road 5 or less at idle..

    the wiring diagram i have shows the purple wire in position 1 back up light switch i believe the early version adjusted with screws and the newer style has plastic teeth you just move it to the needed position

    the big 10 came with a straight six stock and the heavy springs. a big block required the heavy springs upgrade for the standard chassis. yes 78 had big blocks in c10s. it will ride like a truck lol.. i definitely feel the road fortunately my seat are soft

    spring rate 843# per inch of compression or 1060# per inch of compression. f44 big 10 is most likley the heavier 1060 of the two and will give you a stiffer ride. in theory the softer spring is longer so installed should give the same ride height.

    tires and wheels can have the biggest impact on the look, ride, feel overall style of the truck. you need to match them to your liking. in my opinion old school 15'x look best on a square body. personaly im running 15x8 front and 15x10 rears. and i like them but thats my style.
