Transfer case lever doesn't fit and housing missing?

Is there an id tag on it or serial number somewhere that I could know which one it is? I can't seem to find one.

Should be on the backside of the case in the middle.

This is all i have under the plastic bezel. No metal housing with clips, no metal guide. Guess I'm ordering those.

That looks like a np203 shifter. Your original should be a np208, aluminum case. 203 is mostly cast iron and has a PTO cover on drivers side, see pic;

I agree, it looks like a 203 has been swapped into the truck.

that is not the right shifter for that cover.

take a picture of the transfer case from the back looking forward and we can ID it.

why would anyone swap in a 203?
