Agreed on the longer WB making it ride better. One of many reasons we preferred longbed trucks. I had a buddy in high school that took me out wheeling in his '74 Blazer K5. Fun,and we were just going around the bayous and where subdivisions were going in near school, but the short WB made it not as enjoyable.
On the other hand, my Crew Cab rides nice with a load in it. Empty, it's VERY obvious you're in a one ton truck. I rode in the bed yesterday evening, cause I had lots of groceries in the back seat, and it was quite the bumpy ride (truck does need shocks and some front end work though).

Maybe because the longer wheelbase rides better, just like a Square Body, and they're not planning to go over steep ridges.

Ha! What steep ridges? Most of them never leave the pavement, lol.

Right, but what do you need interior space for when you only drive yourself to and from you day job? And the biggest loads they see is groceries from the grocery store or maybe clothes from the mall.

My brother has a theory about this very thing. He noticed many of his smaller female friends had Jeeps or trucks, because they felt safer and could see further ahead in traffic. Might be a reverse macho thing too.
This is exactly why my GF has a fullsize truck and wants a 4x4 when we build her a square. She's 5' 2" and likes to sit up high, she feels like she can't see well driving my C10 or my previous Fusion I had.
