Im assuming its an auto. Underneath Remove inspection cover if applicable. And remove the starter and torque converter bolts, should be 3. Helps to have someone hold crank but not impossible to do all yourself. And get in the habit of only turning the engine clockwise. After that remove engine mount bolts and bell housing. Also have a floor or transmission jack supporting transmission.

In for a dime, in for a dollar. Looks like a blown head gasket. If it was mine, I'd pull the nose and get a Harbor Freight engine hoist for ease of removal.

Mystery are there any other bolts here I must undue? I just see this one I’m pointing too a bar with my red black ratchet handle Is this just a stabalizer bracket bar connecting the block to trans? It’s a 9/16 bolt if I undue this bolt will it free the engine from trans?

Do I need to undue anything here ?this is driver side underneath. Is the “thing” to the right of the flywheel called the torque converter? Won’t that part stay attached to the Tran wen I get the motor out?

Remove the 3 torque converter bolts before pulling engine.

Backside of flex plate, towards engine is where the heads of those bolts are.

BUY A BOOK!!! It will be more valuable to you than you know, and save you COUNTLESS hours and an unbelievable amount of frustration. Example post 71, you are asking about that big thing. You see I know how that big thing has to be seated, before I install the engine, you don't, the book will tell you that before you bend up a flex plate, or break a front pump. That is only 1 example.
