that doors been hard to shut and makes a loud pop when it catches you have to pull hard, roller pin is bent bad. I knocked it out, going to order a new one for both sides. The ds has been missing as well as the ds door spring since I got the truck.

Also notice anything wrong?

That looks like O77 blue, at least in the pics.

I like how the fan shroud turned out, what kind of prep did you do to it prior to paint? Looks like it still has the factory texture.

I know it turned out very well. I think it turned out better then the inners.

I tried to remove the somewhat texture it has, but it didn't work too great I guess, maybe just orange peel somewhat.

Anyways, prep, stripped the krylon fusion I had on it off with gel paint stripper, sanded it down with 150 or so i think, then used duplicolor adhesion promoter, then some rustoleum filler primer. wetsanded it with 320, then knocked over it a little with 400 wet, just barely though. No real need the 320 made it nice and smooth. I then just used grease and wax remover, then tack rag and sprayed it.

That should be pretty smooth then, the pics must be playing tricks on my eyes. Smooth or textured, I still like it :)

Nice work. I'm totally against using body filler. IMO

there's no way to be againist it it's a must have.

You want a panel straight and perfect have to use it. Only other way is tons wasted in high build primers and such.

Filler is nothing to be afraid of or againist, you just don't build it up thick. a general rule of thumb is it has to be less then 1/4 thick, 1/8 or so is good. Less is better.

A fellow student bought a 67 pontiac catalina convertible. I about puked my guts out when I saw where someone used it fill in rear lower corner panels from bottom to half up with nothing but body filler. I thought he paid too much for it over. Its had running SB 400 but need work and needed a new convertible too. Most I pay for it is $300-400. He paid $600.

can't wait to do the outside and have it done, then cut and buff it to perfection i hope LOL.

wife picked it out, she looked at the color book and just stopped, I was thinking more of a red or lighter blue.

He stole it for $600 even if it needed fully restored and was found tore up in a pasture.
