got some new junk yesterday and today, and junk is the right word for it too.

I guess it happens when you have to go cheap.

First up is my amp kit, tucking wires left my amp wire a bit short, can't find the other piece I had which I beleive was longer. I ordered this,

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001F6ITRE/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

only because price pros on amazon owed me from a previous order, so I got it for like $11 shipped. It's an ok kit, but mine must be 6 gauge or their wire is way thin it looks like 10 gauge to me. So I decided I'll splice the old piece of 8 gauge I think it is or 6 whatever my old amp kit is, to the wire I already have for my amp in the truck. I had a piece for the ground which I didn't use previously, I just used some left over blue power wire for a ground and used this to power the junction block underhood from the factory. Now I plan to use this amp kit to power that block and then have the thick wire to my amp. I may even double up the wire to the block to make sure it gets enough juice.

Next up this came today...

JUNK!!!!!

I can NOT cut this crap. I cut my other kit with scissors, no problem, this I tried 5 pairs on, tin snips, linemans pliers, my wire cutter/crimper, bolt cutter's, steak knife(which worked better then the others) and a razor knife. I finally got it cut with a sawzall and a bi metal blade, not very clean either. The ends I thought were supposed to be chrome, they are more like brushed finish. Oh well it's better then hose clamps showing I guess.

started my front end rebuild today.

Found out my brake hoses need changed, the outer jacket is torn from dry rot it looks like. I also found out my sway bar links are shot, rubber is falling apart big time.

I would say pretty much all the front end rubber is shot, bushings and such.

Just got done ordering from amazon(cheapest place I found) got one brake hose for $5 something the other was $11. Also got a raybestos end link kit for $12 something. should be here between the 18th. and the 23rd. of this month. Gives me time to clean everything and paint it all.

I gotta get a 15mm impact socket or a 1/2 to 3/8 reducer or something to get the other axle out, 2 bolts holding it in, and the rest came out with 16mm socket. The last 2 won't. Somebody had it out because it was missing a bolt or two and they seem to be different head size.

Also got a upper shock sleeve or whatever, the top metal piece it's boogered up bad like it hit something, no clue what nothings messed up and it's right in the cv axle area where it's at. I'll have to get pics of it.

yea another reason for doing it. I had one control arm loose too an upper one. I thought of taking them all loose for the heck of it, and then thought of taking them out and paint them off the truck but I know the t-bars are gonna be a pain.

I got one shock bolt that won't budge already have to cut it off. I bet the other is the same.

Once you get it together be sure to take all kinds of pics, it may never be that clean again! Looks good though brother! :waytogo: Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I always heard a good upgrade for these trucks was a 2500 front diff, because you cant get a locker/LSD for the 1500 diff, and there is a wider selection of gear ratios?

not sure you'd need wider range of ratio's you can get 5.13's for it. I saw on rockauto they have 5.36 or38 or 6.xx somethings???

but the 2500 front diff has a bigger ring gear, but is alot more work to make work from what i've read and not worth the time and trouble.

I'd rather be throwing in a solid front or at least a 6 inch ifs lift on top of this crap but that aint gonna happen.

I even found a set of 39.5's for $300 and thought MAN!!!!!!!!! 6 inch frame and 3 inch body then throw on some 39.5's!!!!!!
