check to make sure you have all the vac lines hooked up correctly to the TBI. you may also check the EGR (or take the vac lines off at the solenoid and plug them) and see if that helps.

does it seem like it is loading up on fuel and flooding itself out?

do you have access to a scanner or ALDLDroid and a blue tooth ALDL cable to get data from the computer? Maybe some clues there.

The question marks are confusing. Did it run fine and not stall after that?

Hi!
Might wanna check the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS).
Was a grounding eyelet present at the thermostat??
Check ignition module wiring and make sure routing of the spark plug wires are not to close to the EST circuit(s) wiring??

code 42 only sets when the EST wire is disconnected. not sure if anything else in ICM will set it (which is certainly frustrating sometimes to diagnose). check the connection at the disconnect to set timing and at the ICM to be sure the connectors all look good.

Bingo!
Now youre diggin at the root.
I suggest to remove those grounds from the intake bolts...that has caused a bad reference (5v) ground, which can make havok in the ESC circuit AND provide a false code 42 AND also shut power to the injectors.

Did he say HAVOK??
