I think I may have figured out my issue its related to the TV cable because when I pulled the cable free from the tb it seemed sticky which would lead me to brlive I have it in a bind because its hard to move by hand i readjusted it so now I'm going to go for a test drive I'll report back later

So went for a test drive and it seems I have the transmission fixed again but I noticed the adjust keeps undoing its adjustment also still seems like the cable is binding so I'll pull it loss and reroute it and hopefully that takes care of all the issues I'm having

At least you're on the right track. Does the type of calbe you have, the one with the adjustment lock at the TBI end? If so, make sure it's locked down so your adjustment is not moving.

Cool. Good Luck. Hopefully you're about to get this issue to rest once and for all. At least on the right track now. :waytogo:

Naww, I don't think the trans if to far gone at all. Reason being, you're fluid is staying clean you said, and the pan had little or no sludge or metal shavings in it. I think the prognosis is all good, with the proper diagnosis, and I think you're all over the diagnosis with a good treatment plan. It's gonna work out. I feel it.

Man I hope your right I've been fighting this truck for 3 months now and its just been one thing after another with it and its just wearing me down and I've never in my life let a vehicle beat me this bad I would always get rid of them the first sign of trouble but everything on this truck has come to me for a reason and hopefully that reason shows its ugly face soon lol

So I have an update for you hotrod I reran the cable went to do the base adjustments as we talked about a few pages ago and when I go to pull the throttle by hand the thing is almost impossible to move and when it finally does move it pulls the adjuster have way out and when I go to test drive the truck I still have bad shifts at high rpms and still no over drive so what I think I'm gonna have to do is pull the damn pan off one more time check the rocker arm thing and make sure its touching the valve arm and also could I pull that valve pin thing out and check for any plugging or score marks on it to make sure it move freely inside its bore or would I screw something up really bad by doing that and also should I pull the governor out and check it as well

If you get everything out of the way and have enough room to pull the valve out, you won't hurt a thing. Probably a good idea to do so. It could have a POS in the bore and making the valve sticky, buy pulling the valve out you'd dislodge anything in the bore. Don't lube the valve with anything but trans fluid. That's all it needs.
