Paul is talking going into OD and I think Jim is talking TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) lock up. Yes, either could be VSS issue.

Do you know for sure you're getting TCC lock up?

As far as OD, that can vary by gear ratio and tire size too, although 60 does seem high even if you had a tall rear gear like 3.08's.

Ain't know thang. Just wanting to make sure we're all trying to diagnose the same thing. I again would have forgotten we're dealing with an ECM activated trans if you hadn't mentioned VSS.

Just for reference, my 3.08/700R4 combo goes into OD around 45-50mph at light throttle. Shifts from 1st to 2nd at about 15-18mph, into 3rd around 28mph or so, at light throttle.

that blazer may have 3:08 gears then. 3:42 with 31's on mine, and and under normal driving, i get OD at around 38mph.

Ya so I think I'll need to readjust the TV cable on mine because it don't go into od till 60 1st changes into second around 15 and 2nd to 3rd around 35-40 all with light throttle the one thing I need to invest in is a tachometer that will tell me exactly when I hit od because it shifts so smooth from 3rd to od I can't tell for sure when it actually changes and the exhaust is so quiet that it don't help either lol

Sounds like you need to force the throttle body open by hand again, and see if it adjusts out any more.

Oh hell !!! WTF??? And you've made NO changes at all? Haven't lost any fluid at all? You're positive you're not losing fluid into the Tcase from the Trans?

I mentioned to him on the phone the other day that I THINK there is a small hole for fluid to go into the T case! but I wasnt sure.
Sounds like someone is draining his **** when hes not looking, because every time he has another problem, its usually something that the rest of us have experienced as a result of low fluid level.

It just seems wierd to me, all was working good except a late OD shift, now he's back to some crap shift points again. What can be wrong? I'm thinking possible fluid level change. It could have leaked into the Tcase overnight thru maybe a bad seal between the Trans and Tcase. I'd check the fluid properly. Warmed up, in Park, level surface. Get it right on the FULL mark. Then, check it again in the morning and/or after a drive.
Got me stumped at this point. I wish he had a spare known good governor laying around. Maybe he governor valve is sticky and hanging up intermitanlty.

He is going to pull it out after he takes care of some other things on the to do list. I have another one in my box if he needs one.
