Very cool info... that wasn't covered in the trans class I took years ago to rebuild the th350 that was in my wagon... wished I had switched it to a 700r4 back then... I'd probably still have it if I had... lol

I'll see what I can do for a pic of the 700r4 set up too, but the Th350 I showed you is very similar. I think you'll get it once you get in there and see it's pretty simple. I'm sure we'll be here. Be sure to take some pics yourself if you have a cam. They'll be beneficial to the forum since we don't have a 700r4 build write up yet. I want to do one, but gotta wait till I get mega bucks for all the parts I want to build one.

could it be the plate that pulls the cable at the throttle body? im not sure if they chaged depending on the year of tranny/engine. it should have geometry like this:

He's going to be checking that when he pulls the pan. That is what Jim is referring to as the bellcrank. He's going to see if it's bent, or the cable itself or the cable housing is stretched.

No, thats the throttle crank, I am talking about the crank that the little hook pulls on down in the Trans.

I know what you're talking about. He's showing a pic of and talking of something else I do believe.

I know that I was talking about something different. I would think that if one of those parts were bent that the tv cable Adjustment would compensate for it.

In fact, that one in the pic looks boned up. looks like the weak area is where that spring hooks up.

The cable is kinked at the throttle body just before the adjuster thing leading me to belive its not letting the cable to return all the way back inside its self
