Im gonna be perfectly honest with you, once the build it done, I'm gonna run it on some tests, play around, take it easy, once it passes the "crawling/walking" stages, I'm gonna push those axles as hard as I can and try to break them, full on loaded launches in a attempt to try to grenade them lol after all, that's what they were bought for! "bombproof".... We'll see what the 502 has to say about it

What Honky meant was, an 8.8 swap would be a walk in the park compared to your K5 build. It's nearly a 100% bolt-in deal.

They use a flange type pinion yoke. The donor Explorer's shaft can donate it's rear yokes and you can probably adapt them to your stock shaft.

Then the wheel bolt pattern would need redrilled to the Chevy pattern.

There is a conversion joint to put the ford yoke on a Chevy shaft. Most just get another short shaft and cut the housing so the chunk is centered otherwise it’s offset

I'm interested, anything is possible with the tools I have available. What's the bolt pattern for the furd?

Ah, so I'd have to crossdrill the wheels, or crossdrill axle shaft and hub/rotor

Only thing I'm trying to visualize here. Is the furd 8.8 center offset?

But that's just for 2wd use though I thought. The 4x4 housing is wider, so you kinda need to keep the width?

Imho, if an offset pumpkin works in an Explorer, it will be fine in an S10.

Well I mean... Guys out there are OK with running 45° on their front and rear driveshafts with big lifts and no case lowering /drop box

Couldn't see why a offset pinion would hurt [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
