Mine was 4x4 and I un4x4ed it. Removed all the 4wd stuff put on 2wd drop spindles on the 4x4 arms and kept the torsion bars

That's cool. I had no idea the 2wd spindles would fit the arms. How was the geometry with the tierod ends?

Probably the 3.42 with 31x10.5's as well.

I ran many different sizes, with 3.08 gearing. For 15's I ran 205/75, 215/75, 235/70, 215/65, 245/60 and then for 16's I ran 245/50 and 255/70. Mpg was roughly the same with all.

I knew what you meant:)

I just think 2wd and TBI must be more efficient. Mainly the TBI? Even the later 2wd 4.3 trucks seemed to drop in mpg. I've been around a lot of those too.

Eh, I believe the tbi trucks are lower comp. Not to mention fuel pressure is close to that of a carb, tbi cfm is low,
The cmfi fuel pressure ie like, 40 ibs of fuel. Maybe more.

Mines got a shortened deck and heads, bored, with a cam [emoji16], she really runs like a scalded dog on 93 octane

I had to flip the lower ball joint and flip the tie rod ends. It drove nice. I ran 275/40/17 front and 315/35/17 on the back.

Even just with tbi, mine was a hoot. Power shifts got rubber up to fourth. It really was a lot of fun to drive. Man I miss that truck.

How is that Colorado? For some reason I could never get into it. It just seemed a step backwards to me. I hope gm brings back the s10 like ford brought back the ranger. That Colorado thing isn't working. Or is it a good little pickup? I just never liked the looks of it.

If I'm not mistaken the new ones have a 4cyl or 6cyl duramax in them.

Ok. It's just not something I have paid attention too. This thread got me thinking again about the little pickups. I kind of want one again. Lol. Thanks a lot guys. I already have enough projects. Haha
