Yes, that's what I want but I don't want to deal with torque steer on tight trails and why I'm going LOCKER in the rear and Air Locker in the Front. So it'll be a 3x4 until I hit the front lock up swith, then it's a true 4x4.

I opted for a grizzly in my dana 60.
Works like a Detroit I hear, but has better manners on turning.
I couldn't justify the price of air lockers....
I see who's got the big bucks tho

OHhh NOooo, no big bucks here. You don't even wanna know how I acquired my air locker, and it's only for a 10 bolt front. Other reason I wanted the air locker, I didn't want to get the front in a bind and break the 10 bolt, so this way I can shut the locker off and get out of the bind and let it go instead of something breaking. I got it for FREE. I would never have an ARB air locker on my budget I promise. I agree, if you don't need it, like if you're a mudder and don't plan on doing tight trails, where a tight turn may be needed, then torque isn't ****, live with it. And if you're in a Dana 60 front and have strength, it's strong enough to power through the bind like a boss so no worries. I understand your logic 100% and you'll be good to go.

You're the money bags, got a Dana 60 up front. I collect all the 10 bolt fronts that people throw away so I have plenty of spare parts when I break the front axle. I'll have spare axles, carriers and housings. I won't give much of 2 ***** when I break the 10 bolts since it'll just cost me labor, seals and bearings.

The secret was a 87-91.5 kingpin 60. They're the undesirable axles for drivers drop guys because you can't just buy brackets from a store and bolt those in , and they're not a direct swap for the jeeps.

36.5 Centerpin distance.

The 77-79? Ford 60s are where the big bucks are.
They're 31.5 Centerpin.
Most of the time a boat anchor 77-79 starts at 1200.
Ends sometimes at 2k.

Any dummy with hand tools can buy a SAS kit and bolt it in.
Far as I know, nobody sells a sas kit for a 36.5 axle.....

I wanted to make my own anyway.

I paid 1800 for 3 axles.
The 99-06 14 bolt.
87-91.5 kingpin 60,
And a "locked up 3.54 geared" 95-97 balljoint 60.
(that axle wasn't locked up and was geared 4.10)

I got a 10 bolt, open carrier, 3.54 ratio, stripped down to just parts, if you wanna work out something?

I have no use for it.

What luck. I found a drum brake 14 bolt for 150$ just a rock toss away from me.
He says it's a open diff.

Those Ford Dana 60's are High Pinion too aren't they? Where the pinion comes out of the top of the carrier instead of the bottom. That's ideal for high lift kits and driveshaft angles. Naw, distance kills the deal on the 10bolt. I have 2 complete spares, 1 with 3.08's and a spare 3.73. The 3.08 one will just be spare axles, stub shafts, knuckles and carrier, I'll never use the 3.08's.

YESSS !!! There you go, Prolly the C6P springs too. That's what I'm putting into my K10 to make it a K20 and then converting the 10 bolt front to 8 lug with the backing plate and rotors Honkey sent me.

Beleive it or not, this is one I picked up for FREE. It was under a carport for too long and the wife wanted it hauled off. She put an add on Craigslist, FREE just haul it off. I bet her husband was pist when he got home. Also an open diff 3.73.

ARB be the best.
Why not go ARB in the rear also... and get a big compressor and decent tank. Don't rely on the compressor running all the time when locked in. And with an air tank you may as well have train horns for the days you really want to be an ass.

Yes, as far as I know, all 77 and up Ford 60's are high pinion.

I meant shipping it over, just a thought though

The man was "selling it" but when I got there, the wife was closely watching the whole thing. She wanted to make sure it got sold no doubt lol

As mentioned, Big Money !!! I'm a broke guy. My Detroit locker I bought out of a chipped tooth CUCV axle for $100. Got the disk brake conversion and the DL out of it. That is the plan though as far as a tank and compressor. The compressor is small I got off a totalled truck that had some big air bags. The tank I have is only a little 2 gallon but I think that little air bag compressor will keep the 2 gallon tank air'ed up and maybe I can even air up tires after leaving the trail and will be adding air horns too. I was once thinking I'd spread out as funds came available and go with a bigger compressor and tank to run an impact too. But why? I have a cordless impact??? Locker in the rear won't hurt my feelings staying locked up.
