Well, we’re in a real pickle now

We got everything together over the weekend, but couldn’t get everything 100% buttoned up until tonight because of waiting on parts to arrive that broke along the way due to 32 year old plastic wonderfulness. First startup, the positive is no oil puff BUT it was missing. Did a compression test and cylinder two was down. Took passenger valve cover back off to redo cylinder 2 rocker arms…….This is when things took a turn because I had to run my other 3 kids all over town for various sports commitments.
I gave the owner of the blazer directions. Once done with the lashing of valves on cylinder 2 to put it back together and we’ll retest later. Also, when torquing down the valve cover it’s ONLY 27 in-lbs. 45 minutes after I leave home i get a text…..he broke the bolt off in the head because he went WAY past the click on the torque wrench.

I should just told him to wait til I got back home but I thought he could handle it.
Any suggestions? As you can see, we’ve tried the EZ Out option to exhaustion.
