My bad. The 10 bolt is 3.42.
Not 3.54
I was wondering about since 3.54 is a Dana 60 or Ford thing with a 3.55 but they do make aftermarker gears thought maybe you got a unicorn put together.

So that's a 3.42 10 bolt front? I do also have a 14b SEMI float 3.42 axle. Those are fairly rare to find in stock form since most 3/4 tons got 3.73 or 4.10's. If someone might need it's going to be for sale someday when I get the K20 together and won't be driving the 84 C20 anymore when I steal the 454 out of it. But I sold the 3.21 14b Full Float that came in that truck and put the 3.42 Semi Float in it just to finish off it's life with until it's stripped for parts to put the K20 and the K5 together.

Yeah, came out of the v10 burb I took apart.
I was unaware you were on the search for 8 lug stuff though.
But I do know a 10 bolt 1/2 ton can be made into a 8 lug axle with the outer components.

I'm honestly just thinking in my head.... Maybe just forget this whole idea of robbing the **** out of this 14 bolt I bought... And converting my 1/2 ton rwd to a 3/4 Ton....
3.73 is a little higher than what I'm rocking now...
My 89 DD r1500 is 3.42 rear. 10 bolt....

Dad has a complete front half of a frame to convert the truck to 3/4 Ton... And I have a rear end from a 3/4 Ton..... 3.73 wouldn't be a bad option to move to...... o_O
I normally would NOT be in favor of modifying the truck... Just because of the extreme sentiment of it... He bought it a couple years old. I've basically grown up in it.

But he did always wanna convert it to 3/4 Ton

As mentioned, Big Money !!! I'm a broke guy. My Detroit locker I bought out of a chipped tooth CUCV axle for $100. Got the disk brake conversion and the DL out of it. That is the plan though as far as a tank and compressor. The compressor is small I got off a totalled truck that had some big air bags. The tank I have is only a little 2 gallon but I think that little air bag compressor will keep the 2 gallon tank air'ed up and maybe I can even air up tires after leaving the trail and will be adding air horns too. I was once thinking I'd spread out as funds came available and go with a bigger compressor and tank to run an impact too. But why? I have a cordless impact??? Locker in the rear won't hurt my feelings staying locked up.

You must be registered for see images attach
Yeah you mentioned your fund limit further down in the thread. What no covid truck parts check haha?
And you're better off with cordless impact as well. An air impact takes SO much air. You cold always hook it up to your ass, you blow so much hot air.
You can always add a bigger or second air tank later on down the road.
Just be careful on the trail with the locked front end, they break parts really easy. Suddenly throwing traction where there was none before puts
one hellova strain on those axles and stubs... and hubs. Try not to turn any more than a few degrees. Again why the locker up front is so awesome,
Mr. In and Out for the win.
Try to never back out of a hole while we're there. Again... 'snap' ! What was that? Oh just a twig....(#&*@!*!!)

I've been taking full advantage of this covid crisis, everyone sells stuff for cheap, and for the "essential" workers that need stuff to do, they gladly throw some money in my hand for my stuff.

Guns and truck parts have all gotten bottom dollar cheap, so has steak for some reason. So I'm amounting more toys and enjoying some steak while I'm at it.
