What would you do? And Why? Assume the trans that goes stock with the motor will also be swapped.

L92 6.2L?
LY6/L96 6.0L?
LBZ 6.6L?

Something else? Assuming we stay chevy here, I know the 6BT is a common one, but never came stock in a chevy.

of those options, 6l/4l80e price and ease of swap are the reasons.

I was thinking about doing an LQ4 6.0l, but the gen 4 motors are now readily available and the 6 speed dosn't seem like a bad option if swapped with the motor it came with. Which got me thinking why not go to the 6.2L L92 with the aluminum block, over 400hp stock and less weight, again with a 6 speed. But then I get thinking about swapping a gas engine into a diesel truck and think maybe the LBZ with the Alison would be the better choice. I have no real NEED for any certain setup, just need to figure out what I want...

I agree a 6.2 is awesome but a lq4 is ALOT cheaper and makes great power which makes the awesome level very similar.

I was under the impression that all cucvs, no matter the “model year” were 1984s.

I asked what year just out of curiosity. I haven't seen any documented proof that all CUCVS were manufactured in 1984. With over 70,000 units produced, I find it hard to believe they were all manufactured in one year. I could be wrong.

Instead of a LBZ Duramax, consider an AMG GEP P400, you can put a mechanical ip on it so no need for a stand alone computer.

I’ve owned a 83,84,85, and 86 cucv. I’m pretty sure 83 was the rare of the years

Yup, from what I understand, cucv production in 83 was limited.
