Tuning- A few months ago I rebuilt the carb (on my 81 250) and removed the emission equipment that wasn't working. Now, with winter weather, it was really rough cold. Adjusted the choke and hooked up the carb preheat. Added about 10Degrees of ignition timing and wow! I'm not sure how it starts cold yet, but, it sure ran good with noticeably more mid range torque!

Runs great cold. Flat spot on accel cold is gone. More work to do, but...

I saw the axle seals were starting to weep ever so slightly, I already had to do u joints so out comes the carrier! Finally A chance to upgrade the breather. I wiggled on the original and it was ready to fall out. Tapped for a 1/4 pipe thread and a 5/16 barb. Definitely can't do it without disassembly.

So here we are. Just ball joints...

Here a but a few of the "custom" items I have done on my 87 burb. I made new door pulls from aluminum flat bar and reused the chrome covers, cleaned up a steering wheel from a 94 Jimmy and installed, modified an overhead console from a 2001 Astro van to fit and also replaced the old bench seat with fully automated seats from a 2007 Yukon. The seats took some floor pan and support modifications as well as adding new electrical fuse box for new center console and seat electrical.

First red one i have had, almost went and changed everything to gray but the original was is mint shape so added new carpet and kept the red. I have gotten use to it. Definitely an 80's time capsule interior

Looks good and seats look comfy I had red on red in my 90 c2500 one of my favorite interiors

And the corrolary to that, is, "I'm fixing this one thing" but you find several other things that need fixing too....
I had an oil change and a belt tensioner, turn into a water pump, timing job, including new cover, oil pan removal and gasket, hoses, and prolly a couple other things I forgot. Shoulda been an afternoon's job and it went three weeks.
Also did complete tie rods and sleeves on our '90 Burb in an afternoon, and spent over a week getting lower ball joints in it cause they kept fighting coming out.
And had brake work get delayed because I found out the upper ball joints on another Burb, were completely worn out. Bolt in units, but weren't too interested in coming out of the spindles....yes the new ones got anti seize on the shafts.
And in both cases I was using the appropriate pullers. Got to use a BFH a bit too....

just about have the transmission rebuilt for the truck. Added a shift kit boost valve and corvette servo. Decided to wire the lockup converter through the 3rd gear switch this time so I should have lock up in 3rd and 4th
