So, got my package from @legopnuematic - thanks, dude !

:waytogo:

Tested it - seems to work !

Decided to install it- 1-1/4 in wrench is hard to swing over the upper hose, but doable.

Trying to get it orientated correctly- then, this happens.

The head of the switch is smaller than the hex of the body, so I don't think that was it.
I think it was my luck  coupled with old heat aged plastic.

Nonetheless, I was REALLY careful putting the old non working back in.

Phuck.

New one ordered from Rock Auto. I think this thing also controls the lock up for the torque converter, so this could be a worthwhile expenditure in the end.

Well, if that (TCC) still works...

Edit: No, the TCC is controlled by the EGR TVS which to the best of my knowledge works.

Oh, well .

Not sure of your setup, but I don't believe that EGR and TCC are related or effect each other

Exhaust leak on passenger side. Three nuts for flange triangle surprisingly easy to remove.

Flange on exhaust pipe is rotted off. Heat riser butterfly is gone.

Autozone rents for free exhaust tools. I need a straight flange pipe about 8" long. Shouls be easy to replace.

Should I replace heat riser or get a bypass???

By the way I live in southern Arizona.

Thanks for advice.

Going to use bypass for heatriser.

Cannot purchase a exhaust pipe with proper flange anywhere - Autozone, NAPA, O'Reillys.

Located a shop that can make a flange pipe. Closed till Monday.

It's good to hear that they made it to you safe, stinks that it broke.

Took a little roadtrip with my friend to go look at a tailgate to use for parts for his 75 K5, little town of around 1000 people, roll up and the dude has a 68 Firebird sitting next to his trailer, it was really rough, he had purchased it with a buddy back in the 90's for parts and had sat in the woods until his passing a few months ago, but it had a really cool "patina" too it.

Anyways, went and looked at the tailgate, looks like it is good for what we plan to use it for, settle up, then proceeded to talk about all his square bodies that he's had and Camaro's. Really cool guy to talk too, then he brought these out in a towel and said "if anyone can appreciate these, you guys will" carefully unwrapped them and showed us. Said they were on his 84 shortbed stepper and he got the hood louvered to match them and the louvered tailgate. My friend ended up making a deal on them, so we left with the goods and a new acquaintance.

My friend plans to put them on his 75, but I told him that we need to take measurements on them all so that then I finally get done with all my various projects, make louvering dies to make replicas of these (not chrome ones).

I like both the big two, Ford and Chevy. I like those old square Ford. Sure flame and ban me. But I like old American Iron. Those were good trucks! Now I don't like them more than squares but unlike them. My granddad always had Ford's. And I have had a few as well including a ranger that I turned over 300k on the original motor and trans as far as I know. And it ran like a top when I sold it the beginning of the year. I still see it running up and down the road.
