Finally some progress! There's the usual setback to go along with it... but progress!
I pulled the cap from the right side knuckle and installed two washers on top of the spring. Total thickness added was right about .220".

The setback happed on the left side. There's a steering block installed, so there is studs and nuts. 3 of the studs came loose, but one of them, the nut rounded off. So now to deal with that, I've got to cut that nut off of the stud and replace the stud.

But!!! After adding the washers to the right side, the truck can be driven again! It still has a bad wobble when slowing down and getting below 20mph, but the difference is night and day. So I'm on the right track at least.
