Why didn't ya get them 2.5 tons also?
Cause I have 2 deuce and a halfs already, haha. And this one is a little bit beat. Although I may have lined up a buyer for it.
This is the one in question...

Cool cool, I was putting together a 5 ton k5 a while back, but I abandoned the idea and took it all apart and sold it all but the k5 itself.

You still have the K5 body? I thought you sold that too.

Yea I still got the k5

I was thinking about finding another hopeless no title suburban or something, and ravaging it to put together the k5 as a stock truck again.

As long as we don't have 10 pages of crappy rusty green steel wheels.
I'd kill for a set of nasty steel rims for the basket case providing that they were 5x5 and the right offset... the rims that came with the truck are off of some other vehicle (suburban I think) and they are rough! That and there are only 3 of them and they have the wrong lug nuts on them....... (and now you know why i refer to this square as a basket case...)

DO NOT TOUCH THE HANDS!!! Those things are brittle after 40+ years of UV rays. I found that out the hard way trying to restore one for my '87 :(

Scored some good parts today at the scrap yard.
Got a really nice near pristine grill (thought 77, but now I don't know maybe 79), a set of power window power lock 70s door panels, got another clock, a shifter indictator, and a set of camper special badges for my collection. Shift panel wasnt broken before I put it in my pocket, but oh well.

Saved them off this 77 K20 silverado moments before it got crushed. Guy was just about to smash it, but I asked for him to wait, said I had 5 minutes and that's it. That's all I could grab in time. As I was walking back, he was working on smashing it. All that good glass, good 77 one year only trim, bunch of great parts. Grabbed what I could, but still sad to see it get crushed.
There were 2 other squares there too, that both were getting crushed before I could get to them, a 74 Cheyenne Super K10, and Scottsdale C20. Oh well.
You can see what was left of one of them getting wrapped there behind the yellow one.

If anyone is interested in any of these parts, they'll be listed in the For Sale area here in a little bit.

It is the 4x4 older brother to my truck.
But so close.

You saved some of it and that is good.
It is just sad that scrap companies can't sell them to a junkyard.
Instead they see a 4x8x2 bail of steel to send to China.
