You still did real good though. Those 4x4 4L80-E's aren't that easy to find and when you do they're not cheap.

BTW, you do know they don't care what you take back for a core right? So if I was to find a deal like that, I'd be taking them an 84 model 700r4 that I'll damn sure never use. I'll keep the valve body out of it and put the pan back on, they don't care. They don't inspect them either.

Oh I know but, I sold the core 700r4 I had for $100, so to find another cheap is difficult, then to factor in the cost of gas in the truck to go get it and drop it off it wont be worth it unless I can get the trans for free.

Far as I know LKQ is full service yard that removes the parts and sells them to you including the labor removal cost.

Juniors birthday is coming up on Sept 3rd.
He will be 16 and all he wants to do is go to the junkyard.
It should be a half off day at that, so we should be able to find some fun stuff.
I have been teasing him for several years about the junkyard and him needing to be old enough to pass.

I just went through that with my younger daughter. But I had to wait until she turned 18 which was brutal. That's when they start to drift away and want to do other things without Daddy. Luckily she kept her promise and we went and had a good time.
