You're not pulling the pump halves apart. You're just pulling the puimp out, not disassembling it. Aligning pumps is easy as hell. You use a biggo hose clap, DONE.

As far as putting the pump back on, a good tip to the do that, is to use 2 pieces of all thread the same thread as the pump bolts, and use them as alignment pins to keep your gasket from moving.

I'd just take it somewhere and get it done. Noone is going to give you a warranty against leaks using your supplied parts, and they're going to make their money one way or another, either in parts and labor or just labor. If you're paying a shop to do it, just let them get their parts and saye you the hassle of maybe getting the wrong parts and the wait time.

Well, better for it to happen and find out now than have those guys put a band in it right behind the pump and not find the bad clutches and give you back a bad trans.

Kinda sucks though. You missing your old square now? The one you just sold? Man, with the luck you're having, you might need to stop and think who the hell you pissed off or what you did to deserve this ****. Trust me, I'm there myself and I can't think of any reason why I'm going thru the **** I am. I damn sure don't deserve it.

That's probably not to bad. I'd ask if that includes a Z pak or Alto Commercial clutch pack for the 3-4 clutches and a Beast or Smartshell for the SunShell. I'd say for that price for a bench job, it should.

OK, so if he's doing the Z pak, the Beast Sunshell, and Vette Servo, along with a new band then he's covered the main bare basics most common failure areas and with new/reman converter it's probably about as good of a deal you'll find with a 1 yr warranty.

Uhhh yes to do all that, it can be for someone who has never done it before. You can tear lip seals, you won't have clutch spring compressors to get the drums apart, or ring resizers, bushing drivers etc. If it needs a whole rebuild, just leave it to someone experienced. Anyone can pull one apart to swap a couple hard parts when getting into pump and drum disassembly, then the technical **** starts, to where you need to know measurements and all that good ****. And one seal put in wrong and gets damaged, then the trans don't work. For $750 and all the common failures covered, with a torque converter and 1yr warranty, I'd say go for that deal.

OK I found a way to get most if not all the money to replace the transmission so I'm going for it that way

Believe it or not, we have had someone ask. And it is a bit more complicated with a Tcase hanging off the back of it. Some don't but I find it alot easier to take the Tcase off first and not pull them as a unit. The Tcase isn't all that heavy, but it's the awkwardness that makes it a bitch.

I have a good transmission jack that balances the tranny perfectly even with the Tcase on it but pulling the Tcase and then the tranny is simple
