Brother I know! That’s why I want to see one in use before I pull the plug! But since it is made specifically for the stepside it should fill the space the best
It’s a super cool idea though! I’ve seen some like that before that guys made themselves. If you can weld and can find another stepside tailgate, might could make one cheaper

We purchased one from Mar-K and although it was expensive, it fits very well and is Made in the USA... We also their bedsides, front piece, tailgate and wood kit. The fit and finish of everything was spot on.

Watching as I sold mine in the farm auction for like 10 bucks...I want one that mounts on the back side behind the wheel wheel, and no wider. Just for a bottle of anti freeze, oil, towels, jumper cables and some tools. May have to make it.
