The wheels have push through center caps lol I should’ve mentioned that when I said remove a wheel my bad, I’ll try and get some pics and more info at lunch in a few hours I’m about to go to work. It looks similar with the bolts going around where the driveshaft hooks up to the diff, mines got a few more leafs though lol.

The positive thing is, the frame on 1/2 and 3/4 is the same but 2wd frontal frames I believe are a lil weaker, so your 4x4 setup isnt Bad but... i would strengthen it You appear to have the drive axles off a 6CP 3/4 ton based on the brake size in the back, up front I cant tell but they were the same i think. you also had the hd options factory for a half ton which means it wasnt a huge step-up as it likely had a semi float 14 bolt I would think before. Standard ratio is probably 3.73 or something. maybe 4.10 for a F44 kind. idk

I’m gonna assume it’s a Frankenstein like my other 3/4 ton. But look like you got the same info I did from the vin. 81 c10. It’s got one ton axles but what’s something I can do to verify what the frame is. The frame was all I really bought the truck for lol. The goodwrench 350, manual trans, np205 tcase we’re just bonuses lol. I got the title coming today along with other information from previous owner. Guy owned an excavation business and this was his tow rig. He pulled backhoes and other equipment until it started running rich and he bought an F550 to replace it. All in all I just hope it’s not a half ton frame especially for all the towing it’s done. I did measure and the frame is 6-1:4” tall and about 2-1/4” wide I didn’t measure thickness I didn’t think about it. I’m assuming it’s a D44 front axle since I cleaned the numbers up.

That's a 3/4 or 1/2 ton frame and 3/4 ton running gear. 1 ton axles would have been a Dana 60 front, and that's not what you have there.

It’s a Frankenstein for sure it was owned by a farmer type guy. I’m hoping the new info this afternoon is beneficial. Is there a vin on the frame anywhere I can find?

Alright words from previous owner.
81 c10 cab and misc body parts, some year 3/4 ton frame and flat bed, some year one ton rear end. Brand new goodwrench crate engine with <30k with a manual trans(I haven’t identified yet) and a np205 tcase. Is there anything in specific I can do to verify any of this? I know how to verify the engine and tcase. Trans I don’t know much about the front axle said 44 so I assume a Dana 44 and the rear end I’ll have to look harder at.

the cab has the vin in the dash by windshield, and the VIn is stamped under the ... cab on the driver side, on top of the rail, It sometimes has been seen stamped where the bed and cab transition is
Mine ive found almost entirely been where the door handle would be to the hinge area (visualizing it)

the rear end is like a 6CP(hence why I showed you my trucks rear end) which means 4.10 or 4.56 and you also have bigger shocks (crew cabs/1 tons/ c6p 3/4 tons) The brakes are larger in the back. The rear end is most likely 4.10 because 4.56 dana 44 arent common but it was possible. your frame year would be helpful to know. if the front frame horns are rounded, 70s, if not , 80s

dana 44 front, 14bolt rear

its also a 2wd to 4wd conversion unless he put a 2wd cab on a 4wd and changed the tunnel
tHE vin was c10 but your frame could be half ton or 3/4 ton . if its 6cp its heavier duty 3/4

if bex is right about that @Bextreme04 it would mean knowing your year is important to know if your frame is standard cut or if its stronger. Like a C6p from 1981 , based on that, would be like what you want, but a 1980 normal half ton/3 quarter would be fine too. but a 1981 half ton frame would be less than ideal

Tell us those frame horns ,youll find a lot

The front crossmember being solid vs having holes also tells a lot (the rounded frame horns you can look at your other 70s trucks vs your 87 to see what i mean

It’s got an 81 bumper with the turn signals in the bumper if that helps, but it’s also got the grille with the turn signals. The bumper had them removed

I accidently sent it apart of my message, but thats a shot of what the frame looks like on my c6p 1980, so it should look reasonbly similar if yours is ideal
