You just tell me what to look for, I couldn’t look at the frame real hard I haven’t washed and degreased it yet and the fuel tank is in the way, which is missing the switch so I need to get that sorted out to see which tank is selected.

It’s got an 81 bumper with the turn signals in the bumper if that helps, but it’s also got the grille with the turn signals. The bumper had them removed
talk about oil. but your crossmember looks like its a flat one from the 70s but Idk., your bumper had turns? the 1982 year to my knowledge is the only one with that. your frame looks thin BUT i could be wrong. Those brackets for parking brake cable could be a clue

whats the shift pattern look like

No idea on shift pattern has a custom knob, doesn’t grind going into what I’m used to being “Low” I can get pics of trans soon I just finished dinner. I ran outside to take those pics lol. I can get a measurement of thickness if you tell me where to get the measurement. I’ve got a true 3/4 ton I can measure. 1981 had the turns and some 82’s to my knowledge. First year of the new front ends lol. The parking brake cable has been removed. So the rearend has been messed with at some point.

I get it I get it, I just need to know what to look for since I did measurements from all thre trucks and nothing appeared obviously different with the frame.

yes its not the Original rear end, but the bracket which has the hole in it is what I saw. Does the truck have cat shields in place(Regardless of if it has cats?) A HD c6p truck would likely not have them since they could be leaded gas for a few years(Not a guarantee, tho)

I did not see any cat shields, my 87 does have it however under the cab. This truck has dual exhaust no cats with some thrush mufflers or something similar. The exhaust manifolds also don’t match one being a ram horn style and one being where it exits at the rear. I’m assuming the brackets off the frame with the holes are for the parking brake which is completely removed the pedal is there but goes straight to the floor first click and doesn’t return on it’s own. With how nasty the trans looks I couldn’t make it obviously to be this or that. My sm465’s have a pto plate off the side this one is so caked with filth I couldn’t see *****

is the shifter the same shape as yours others and is the reverse hard down into the right? Because I believe the other manual option put it to the right? Also we can use the fact it has a Z bar to our advanage. IS the bracket on the frame riveted or bolted? If its rivets, its factory pre 1983 or 84, and if its bolted its either been put back on moved or something.
1981 or 1982 is looking likely. The frame horn you can see if you just stick your face under your bumper and we have no reason to think he swapped a rarer bumper but did not use the lights on it simply because of convenience. But it could be by chance as well.

Im voting 1982

The shifter does have the reverse car right and so far down the shifter almost touches the seat like my sm465’s but I didn’t want to assume just off that since I haven’t had a different one to know the difference. It does have a zbar with so much slop I can make the clutch pedal almost kiss the brake pedal. Clutch also grabs completely after around an inch off the floor seriously needs adjusted. Which bracket on the frame are you asking about specifically? I’ll go look it’s only 6pm currently it’s been dark for an hour already but I own a headlamp for a reason. Whatever you want to see I’ll provide.

late 80s sm465 to a 350
Also you said np205. Np205 wasnt the transfer case option in a half ton or a 3/4 ton. it was in a 1 ton. so you probably have an NP208 which also means better low ratio chain drive, aluminum case, and tall foot adapter(which makes your crossmember make sense and is an early 80s design)

the bracket is tucked between the cab and frame rail., its what the zbar pivots between the engine/trans and the frame on. it looks like the park brake bracket in its design, a hole on an upright metal piece (whcih has a stud on it)

The np205 I got that idea from the shift pattern in the cab and the look of the shifter. It’s 4L N 2H 4H similar to my 78. The front has 5 leafs in the springs and the rear is 8 plus two overload? Here’s some pics
