Wanting 4" suspension suggestions

I don't plan on hardcore off-roading, but we are right next to the desert so I wouldn't want to take that option off the table.

It's mostly for a weekend cruiser, but let's not limit the options. Honestly I just really like the stance of the Fall Guy truck so that's my motivation for a 6" lift, but it appears to be a lot more work. I'll stick with the 4" and probably see what I can do to modify my existing fenders to make them not look chopped. I have no clearance problems with only a 2" lift but I'm pretty sure my suspension is too stiff to move. Near zero sag too.

At's a nice truck. I was always a sucker for the two-tones.

Yeah...that one there is probably a 6" lift with 37" or 38" tires...judging with my trusty measuring thumb, of course.

Mine has 4" Skyjacker C140S softride front springs, ORD HD front greasable shackles, 4" lift blocks in the rear with factory springs, and Rancho 5000 shocks. Tires are 315/75/R16...so they are just about 35 inches. No rubbing...no fender trimming needed. I really like how it rides down the road. Being it's a CUCV D30, it has 56" springs in the back, so that also helps give you a better ride vs. 52" springs on the 1/2 & 3/4 tons.

I have the same truck. If that front tire travels as far as a soft long travel leaf will let it, you will get into sheet metal. I have no experience with Skyjacker springs though, so not sure how flexy they are.

@Chris64 , to run a 35 and be able to get full travel, at minimum four things will need to happen:
1. Cut the fang
2. Zero rates or springs built with centering pin moved forward.
3. Springs capable of that amount of up travel.
4. Extended upper shock mounts and longer travel shocks, as the factory mount doesn’t allow for a long enough shock.

At that point you’ll want crossover steering as well. Most say 4” lift is the minimum for crossover.

IF you are just playing in the desert and at reasonable speeds, it’s unlikely you’ll need to worry about fender clearance and rattlesnack’s recipe will work just fine. Though, keep in mind his chassis is a 30 series and will already be “lifted” compared to a 10 or 20. So to get a similar stance you’ll need another inch or two of lift.

You live in a place that's different from what a lot of guys have for offroad use, you might want to consider stepping up the suspension game a bit if you want to go out and play with it. Many long miles of dirt and at least some of it chopped up from heavy traffic will reward good suspension. One of my favorite trucks is a '74 K20 with our custom 4" leaves up front, some stock based custom stuff in back and 37s. The 37s fit because we cut out some fender rust but I'm sure you could do some minor trimming and fit 35s and have just as much fun. Mine even has a fat tube rollbar in the bed with a pair of KCs and an igloo console cooler. I can only hope yours gets that good.
