I got one of those reel lights off of a GMt400 that we had in the shop that was wrecked and i got it for free. I love working in a salvage yard lol.

That's what I was thinking, so it comes on by itself with an open hood. I think I'd prefer the On/Off switch.

I'd kinda like to mount one of the reel lights in the rear bed side too. It would be great for those times I have to go help someone else roadside at night, or go pull them out of a ditch, so I have a little light to assist in hooking chains or plugging and airing up tires. I figured I'd just run another wire off the cargo light, so the reel light could get it's power from the cargo light and won't kill the battery if left on my by accident. I guess the cargo light could get left on by accident too though.

Every time I see trucks in junk yards down south, I just about cry. If there was just some cheap way to get those cabs and beds up here, there's plenty of us who'd love one!

Of the three squares my family own collectively, ALL of them have holes in the floors, rotted out fenders, the beds all ate up.. My truck, I am still thinking I am gonna redo the floor, got all the parts, just not the time.. Fixing to pull the tanks so I can grind off the old mounts, etc..

People want more for a clean cab up here than I paid for the whole truck!!

How much do cabs go for up there? I got a rust free cab off Craigslist down here in NC a couple years back for $200. Got a bed in the same condition for $400. My truck is from IL originally. Almost said f it when I saw the frame but I ended up cleaning it up real good and coating it.

I frequent the junk yards around here once in a while, so if anyone needs a pic of something or is looking for something specific just shoot me a message and I'll keep an eye out. I have two within 30 minutes from me... one is a PAP and the other is a mom n pop one that usually has more squares than PAP.

The last cab I sold was perfect. Not a spot of rust. Had it listed for 3 months for $100. Fianally dropped it to $50 and it sold. That guy was happy as a kid on Christmas morning. He said he'd been to look at so many and they were all rusted out in the supports where people don't look for rust.

I don't think you were a member here yet then. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it for sale on here. Wasn't any rust anywhere on the thing except a piece of surface rest about the size of a matchbook where someone had spilled something that ate the paint off in that area. I'd have like to have kept it but that was when I really needed to slim down and had 7 or 8 Squares.

For anyone who gives a ****. I went to PAP today. Got a few things. Clock worked, broke 2nd hand who cares. Got the grommet for the clear plastic cover too if I have to drill a hole to use it. Not sure if it's accurate yet like the one in the 85K1500, but I'll hook it to a battery for a couple day. Also got a printed circuit from an 86 which might once in for all fix my temp gauge issue in the 85. And of course the other I'll leave to your imagination. No guesses for Retro. I use them for custom things.

Also had 1 4x4. All gutted except the front axle and it was complete. Wished it was an 8 lugger, but no, it was 6 lug. It did have some nice looking Warn hubs. Not sure what size allen wrench those take, but I had a set of standard and metric and no allen wrench fit to snag those. I intend to go back tomorrow and get those even though I don't really need them. Maybe make a few bucks off them. Seem about 3 Jeep Shafts worth getting but didn't. I was with my bro and he was in desperate need of parts before this storm hit, so it wasn't a take my time day. Now if I had clutch pedals, or 8 lug conversion set ups for my front axle I'da taken the time. Anyone know the tool size for those Warn hubs? Odd size or what?

So as usual, my bro doesn't listen to me. I told him, why don't we wait about 30 minutes before we go and charge up my cordless Makita incase we have to drill rivets to get your door regulator. Nawwww, mine in my car aren't rivets, they're bolts. I told him again, that just means someone has worked on your car before, most are riveted. His car is a 79 El Camino Conquista. In desperate need of a power window regulator. I was shocked, Only 1 G body that would work. a 78 Olds Cutlass. Damn sure was riveted. So fugg it. Let me look at trucks real quick and we'll split. Did what I did, and on the way out we noticed the SALE Board for Sat and Sun. Long Blocks, $40 + $10 core, Complete Doors $25 + $2 Core. My bro said, fugg it, lets go back and I"ll buy the whole door and take it home and we can work on it there. So yeah, I felt a bit like a Jose carrying a car door out. Thankfully, he didn't like the idea, but I took my PAP Wagon. Now he has a spare Remote mirror, exterior and interior door handles that he needs, 2 more hinges for his other El Co. Worked out well. Compared part #'s on the regulators. Exact same part # on both, so all will be well for him. The regulator itelf would of only been $15, but $12 more got other **** he needed, and it was worth it not to have to drive back out there.

Thanks for that info Retro. All the models I figured would fit it were listed on that Hollander but it was nice to have the confirmation.
