84 used up to 7 pins. (85 on location is the convenience center - before that is usually hanging close to the horn relay) if I’m remembering correctly.

I would think it would be pretty easy to modify 77-83 to use it though (minus key).

The easiest way to disable the key warning is to unscrew the door jamb switch, and disconnect and tape off whatever wire isn’t white. If I remember correctly, the wire for the key is tan.

Problem solved.

I think the difference is for seat belt warning. There is a trigger wire for the seat belt switch in the seat belt latch, and another wire that is an output for the seat belt warning lamp in the dash.

I get irritated by the old-school seat belt buzzers because sometimes I just want to sit in the truck with the heat or AC on and not be "reminded" (because I'm not actuallly moving). My newer vehicles don't start hitting the buckle-up nag until you are moving between 5 and 10 MPH which is fine, but I'd probably pull the seatbelt buzzer in a 70's-80's era car. But I do like the headlight buzzer because I often drive to work starting in the gloom with the lights on, but by the time you get there its sunshine and shades time.

I've heard you can swap to a module that has a less obnoxious tone.
That's what I installed, it's programable ..
You have a 30 second play time then it loops ...

I used Tubular Bells for the chime ..

I meant it would be extremely easy to modify 77-83 (4 pin) to use the 7 pin alarm module to add the headlight alarm portion. Adding the key alarm portion not as easy because of the key switch in steering column.

The seatbelt portion of the alarm is wired the same from 77 on.

I think there are OEM chimera modules available from some GM cars of the same vintage that are a direct plug and play.
