I tried this with PVC instead of PEX and my door latch dug in and jammed shut. Had to really shake hard to open it back up...hehe don't use PVC!

Worked like a charm on my 86! Thank you for posting this. Mine is gouging on the top driver side only though. It has even worn down the striker. What could be causing this?

My guess would be mis aligned hinges.

I tried using electrical tape and it works like a charm! And mostly everyone already has that too.

I tried putting some cut 1/8" air line tubing on the rear barn door strikers yesterday but it didn't wrap around far enough. Got to find something a little bigger.

One of the first threads I have read on here and I learned something right away. A little annoyed that I didn't realize I was missing bushings until I read the thread.

Woo Hoo, we need another OK member. Welcome to GMSB.

Don't sweat it. I think that is the most positive response thread on on GMSB. Most of us were dumbfounded too at how well it works. Many of us had new door latches on our lists of things to do to our trucks when this idea was tripped upon and then realized we didn't need door latches.

 PEX isn't a word. It's actually an abbreviation or accronym IIRC.
