Do I need to flush it out somehow or do you think an oil change would suffice?

No problem just remember there is sun at the end of the storm. Make sure none of those brand new wires are touching metal. They will end up leaking voltage and causing miss fires

I have to zip tie them back up out of the way tomorrow. Still have a little more cleanup under the hood to do. Once I get it tuned right it's on to clutch and brakes and wheel bearings and ball joints and u joints and then on to all my electrical problems. That's just to get this thing road worthy. I couldn't imagine doing a restoration on this thing.

Got the oil changed. She popped right off and idled great. Ran for a couple minutes, sputtered and backfired and died. Rill start right up and do it all over again.

Try holding the throttle open like 2000rpm and see what that does.

Well I was adjusting the idle mix screws and she just died. No spit, no sputter, just died. Have to hold the throttle to the floor to get it to start. Won't idle. Sounds like it running on about 2 cylinders and with the throttle to the floor I'm getting about 600rpms. Let off and it dies.

No. Was barely opening. But also wouldn't fast idle and it like 40 outside. But I have power to the choke.

Ok this is where we start facing the carb the screw on the bottom left corner needs to be adjusted. Turn it click wise till the engine runs at a moderately high idle. Find that screw and let me know. The engine won't idle while the choke is closed with out that screw properly adjusted.
