Are you still using that thin base gasket?

Pcv is ported. Vac advance in manifold. Brake booster is manifold. Everything else is plugged.

Pcv is going to the big bottom port? Sounds like that carb don't like the adaptor.

I had the pcv on the top port. Just moved it to the bottom and the damn thing runs fine at the moment. That's ridiculous. I have swapped those vac lines around 100 times and never got anything to change. Just drove it around town and it ran alright. It will backfire if I'm going up a hill in a higher gear though. Any idea how to get rid of that?

Understand that top port is an overflow secondary vent for gas... originally it went to the evap canister, so if a person was to leave a vac line connected to it via crank case... bad things would happen. Backfire where carb or exhaust.

It will backfire through the exhaust but the only time it would do it is if I accelerate hard in a higher gear. Like going up a hill in 4th.

That's not good. That would explain why my oil smells a bit like gas and although I have a couple small oil leaks, oil still reads full. I will drain it and change it before I run it anywhere else. I can help but think a large amount of fuel went in the crank case when fuel kept spilling out the top of the carb.

This has got me paranoid now. I hope it didn't do any internal damage.

Well man that's why I stressed you not hook up anything to that port weeks ago. I hope it will be ok tho. You haven't been riding around for that long.

I just went about 6 blocks with it. Other than that it's just been starting and immediately dying. I will drain it all tomorrow and put new oil in it.
