as you can tell your exhaust is also intended to clear a crossmember but if it stayed with that crossmemebr it could go straight

not saying mine is right because it most definitely isnt lol, but your case almost appears closer to the crossmember and like maybe the whole thing got a twist with the driver side staying put while the passenger side stretched that way, ppossibly someone reversing into the t case? Just thoughts. My crossmember doestn seem bent but its not 100% error free, its backwards for one. also i forgot about the driveshaaft going to the front. a w allows a in frame exhaust and forward driveshaft to be protected and in that plane, while the hump allows a driveshaft to go forward but allows a exhaust to pass under it. i suspect a blazer would like this? Also the adapter heights can change too, mine best i can tell is a 85 truck it came out of , hydro clutch originally. linkage now.

Also I forgot if you said yours was stick or not, but either way..

It's hard to tell from the pictures here, but I don't believe that is a 1-ton frame.

You brake cables all look to be in place. My guess is that the one of the rear cables is seized and all the cables were drooping down after someone pushed and released the park brake.

It's hard to tell from the pictures here, but I don't believe that is a 1-ton frame.

You brake cables all look to be in place. My guess is that the one of the rear cables is seized and all the cables were drooping down after someone pushed and released the park brake.
Mine is definitely a 1-ton frame. I have the longer leave springs in the rear, the reinforments in the front for lifting the truck onto cargo ships, and the partial VIN in the frame is the M1008 CUCV (1.25-ton).

It looks like you have the shorter foot t-case adapter, so being the taller 1-ton frame, yes the crossmember should mount above the lower frame rail. Since it's an m1008 (pre-'85 type) frame, it would not surprise me if it took a little bit of grinding or notching to make the '85-'86 crossmember fit up in there.

Did the frame get thicker or was it a change also seen on the civilian model?

Yes, but the CUCV's used '84 era parts in general. Which is why the original crossmember was the flat type with the two separate mounts on the adapter.

I couldn't say. I've never swapped a later crossmember into a K30 that had the flat crossmember originally.

Good to know. I would say about 50% of the parts I buy for this thing don't fit. It's a gamble of whether I'm getting an 86 k30 part, an 86 k10 part, or a 74 k10 part because the axles. Now I can add in pre 84 k30 parts.

if you want to have the flat crosmember I think you can the tall adapter and a flat np208 crossmemebr for a k30. but the k30 one is prob harder to find because.. well.. yeah. if you arent committed to the np208 you could swap. remember the 1983 k30 would have been a diesel to np208.

Also, whats the tag on the NP208 say for year? mine is 84

I can't read the tag. Someone painted over it. I think the sm465 and np208 are from the 4.3L V6 K10 that the truck has parts from.
