Damn, that's rough lookin man. :sad72:

Yeah, I think I'm junkin that head. I know it would probably work since its just exhaust ports eatin away by the rust, but I think its a sign that could be other damage in the head. Like how thin are the water jackets? And probably just take 1 minor overheat and crack !!! I intended on spending to much money on these heads to take that risk. As said above, I have 2 more sets of Olds BB heads, 1 of them being the E heads and they breathe almost as well as the C heads, but have 3cc smaller combustion chambers, giving a tad highter compression ratio.

You might be surprised find NO CARB when you're done. I hear this process will melt aluminum.

will it eat rust or crap off the carb itself? since it's oxidized badly?

I thought of soaking it in some apple cidar vinegar and see what happens.

I forgot about it melting alum. though, that would suck lol.

you can use Drano crystals as a electrolysis medium, Warning potently toxic outgasing but will cut grease buildup and speed up the electrolysis process supposedly.

I've actually thought of doing Electrolysis on these Poor Man Valve Job heads. They're not rusty, but hoping the Electro will remove all the grease and grime, and it will in fact help remove rust deposits from the cooling passages. Might be worth a shot. I'll use the Arm & Hammer washing powder though. I finally found some at one of our local mom and pop grocery stores.

Now if I can only find a tub large enough to drive my whole truck in and do this process...

:D:shrug:

Pretty amazing though, that's for sure.
