one thing i have never tried and am ready to find out if wil fit and work are the '72 and oldr SB ram horn exhaust manifolds, will any of them fit and clear the 2wd suspension motor cradle and stock clamshell motor mounts? straight down exits or angled back exits?

no one makes carries head pipes for the '73-up sbc common log style manifolds, but they do make them for the 72 older trucks and i need exhaust asap badly for my bone stock '75 C20 350 daily driver beater, it is now down to the original stock rusted out and splitting open y-pipe with a super old rusted junky tube muffler. all falling apart condition bad...

and i cant find anyone around here or anywhere with any exhaust 2-1/4" duals for these trucks anywhere around here or anywhere online.. just dont exist, impossible,.. so im hoping to get 72 older exhaust and put on ram horn manifolds, it looks like.. i have a couple or few ram horn manifolds around here stashed.

i remember that the 73-up log manifolds wont fit work with stock 72 oldr sbc mounts because the log manifolds sit down on the clam shell frame trees before the mounts touch the frame trees. but ive never actualy tried any ram horn manifold with 73-up clam shell mounts. dont the corvettes use clamshells with the ram horns? if those work together clear then they should in a truck too i would think? same bolted distances apart same motor block dimensions etc...

do the vettes have a susp motor cradle under the motor like the trucks though? center dump?

who knows what for sure?
i need 2-3/4" duals badly asap somehow,... and i totally give up posting ads in this area, trying to find anyone with any exhaust dual pipes system from a parts truck anything.. because there arent any...around here at all anymore. they all got scrapped lot of years ago around here, and are long gone now... impossible.,. im not gonna run headers. i want manifolds.

here is a pic that i found on the interwebs, of a stock ram horn center dump exit manifold on a truck with 72 oldr motor mount... but there is no frame tree bracket. and since it is not clam shell style mount, it doesnt help me at all in determing if it may clear/work with a motor mount 73-up 2wd style anyways..

No exhaust shops around your area? Someone with a bender could fab up a couple of head pipes pretty quickly, I would think., 2 1/4 or 2 3/4 diameter? Why not 2 1/2 or 3, more common.

i'm going to be pulling dual 2 1/2" exhaust off of my K30 long bed truck at some point before spring, but it's currently set up for headers. however a couple of parts store pipes could make it mate to manifolds probably fairly easily. don't know how fast you're looking for exhaust? It has flowmaster delta 44's for mufflers, that i'd probably sell ya the whole shebang for a decent price if you're interested.

Someone here swapped on some rams horns years ago. I thought it was Kapdin, but that must not be right because I can't find a user with that name.

67-72 will work, I'm not 100% on the straight dumps, but the turn back dumps will work just fine. This is a 4wd truck that mine are on, but you need the manifolds with no bracket type deals, casted on the front.

I bought some 2.5" center dump manifolds 8 years ago for my 400. The exhaust shop said there was a slight clearance issue on the driver side with the manifold and the clamshell. They cut out part of the clamshell and welded on it underneath to strengthen it back up. The 400 was then replaced with a 383 with vortec heads. Manifolds still work and have been leak free.

Manifolds were bought here:
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Corvette-Style-2-1-2-Inch-Ram-Horn-Exhaust-Manifold,9133.html

Great deal at $60 each. I didn't need any of the bracket stuff so I ground it off.

Well 68 and I both still need to know about 2wd. But thank you everyone. Come on somebody's tried center dump rams horns or block huggers on 2wd

Why not just do angled dump? Less exhaust work, looks better imo

The angled dump rams horn manifolds may fit better, but they are 2”, not 2.5”. It just depends on whether you want the 2.5” exhaust.

Both angled dump and straight dump clone manifolds are available from many sources, and for about $140-180/pair they appear to be identical to those sold by Dorman.
