Another suggestion , have your machine shop check all your parts before putting your short block together. Eagle is made in china , (not saying it's bad) but I have seen some problems before with eagle product's before , (rod's not the same length etc...) , it just pay's off to double check everything. I would also go a hyd roller cam for sure. I had a 350 in a 78 short bed with a comp. 270 hr cam in it with a true 10 to 1 compression with trick flow heads and it had a nice semi choppy idle and had a great tq. from 1700 up , .215 at .050 dur. , .500 lift , 110 lobe sep. Very fast yet very street friendly. Make sure you know your true compression before choosing a cam and you can get away with a little more cam in a stroker motor
