I believe every vehicle since 1996 has OBDII.

Well its good she got it figured out. Had the same problem on a different make of vehicle regarding the throttle body. Added a little dielectric grease to the connector and it has been fine for years...well that part has anyway. I'm not impressed with the quality of newer american cars. My blazer is roughly 30 years old and the rust is just starting to show. My mom's trailblazer on the other hand is ten years old and three of the four doors on it are bubbling badly. Granted it has a lot more use than my blazer but it's odd that car out here would start rusting so badly so quickly.

It turned out to be a code P2135. They said the throttle body had to be replaced. $520 is the dent in the purse.

Based on my experience with the later model GM's this doesn't surprise me at all.

Sounds like a quality control issue with a supplier.

It's just how modern vehicles are, they have all kinds of random and expensive issues. And it's not just some of the manufacturers, it's all of them. The owners that don't have issues are just the lucky ones.

Yep, modern vehicles are a bitch some days. On my (former) 2007 Accord V6 6-speed, it is almost $900 just for PARTS for a clutch job. A clutch replacement at the dealer is almost $2k!

That's true. Another reason I bought my '98 rather than a newer truck for a DD.
