We don't have a Lazer or plasma at the shop, so I just mill these brackets into the tubing and leave a little .020-.03 web, and that'd easy enough to take a cutoff and just free them from the tubing.

Maybe a dumb question, why not just mill them all the way though?
Sometimes with cold rolled steel, it likes to stress relieve when you mill it from its natural shape And it will have a tendency to "jump" out, I've done it a few times before, like with the k5 sway bar arms, I took 4 plates, welded them together, drilling the holes I needed in them, and then bolted them directly to the table.... I didn't mind doing it that way because there was no way they could stress relief

They didn't warp the other way however, it's general a linear warping, not so much the other way.

I have the shackle hangers tacked to the 3x3 square tube.
I have to go and saw off a little excess, but I think the general idea is given here. They're setup 36.5" on center for a Ford 1 ton front.

I would peen it with air and then do a cover pass low hyd..
Or just clean it up better and get on with life.

First pass I filled up the gap nice and slow, beat all the slag off and cleaned it up, second pass was a little higher amps, nice slow fat welds with 7018

So, 1 tons made it in last Friday, two dana 60s, a 87-91.5 kingpin 60 and a 95-97 balljoint 60, that I have just for spare parts.
99-06 14 bolt ff rear, disc brakes with E brakes.
