Windshield seal/rubber replacement. is there a preferred brand or is all the same?

I need a windshield replacement. Are all rubber gasket windshield seals the same or is there a better brand to buy? Thanks

I don't know if mine was a bad brand or if it's the one piece, but mine leaks. I think it's the one piece, it just doesn't seem to fit good at all.

I prefer Precision, they seem to be softer and fit better. Working the lower corners in is bitch. Best is to grab a friend and some beer. Four hands make installation way easier.

I see this is a couple of months old but Summit Racing carries a lot of the Precision rubber seals.

Haven’t used other brands but Precision for windshield, rear window and vent windows all fit well.
No leaks and no adhesive or sealant used anywhere.
Honestly idk how you could use sealant around the window frames without it turning into a huge mess.
The 86 appeared to have original glass and seals front and back and both had black sealant under the gaskets. Maybe the old OE seals, the glass didn’t fit quite as tight, allowing for easier install?
Windshield is 100% a 2 person task as well.

Precision is definitely the go to for any gaskets/seals for the body on any car. Any time I've replaced seals on my trucks, it's always Precision. The only reason I don't have their windshield gasket in my truck is only because my original was in good shape and my glass guy begged me to reuse it just cuz it's much easier/more pliable than a fresh gasket.

Has anyone used the front and back seals with chrome lock strips from classic parts? Sounds like Precision is the best but I like the idea of the chrome strip, and I don't see that on their website.

Precision has them, I have them in my '85. That or Steele Rubber are the only rubber products I'll use. First listing is an "X-parts", I don't know why but it is still a Precision part. Also, my glass guy prefers to use the OE corner pieces and middle piece (up front) for the lock strips, they're higher quality/thicker. But I've got new gaskets and chrome lock strips in my truck and they worked great.
