Which epoxy to use?

Looking to start painting the frame I do not want to do powder coat, so everyone says use an epoxy. I have searched on here to see what everyone suggests but cant really find the answer.
So what do you suggest? I have heard a lot about SPI, Also I don't have a sprayer, can epoxy be painted on or do I need a sprayer.

I used TSC equipment paint, semi gloss black. Very happy and it is holding up well. Spray bomb, not complicated.

You can paint or roll 2k epoxy with special hardeners. Buy a quality brand not the cheapo stuff and use respiratory protection.

The SPI stuff is pretty decent. I used it on my 79 ford frame with a 3m accuspray. Sandblasted frame 1st, would have been better (and probably not much more expensive (15 bags of sand) to take the paint and chassis to a blaster guy. Followed the 3M instructions using a port off the compressor and not through the regulator on the compressor and the SPI instructions for most everything else. 1st time with both the gun and the paint, so its not perfect, but good enough for a chassis. Mixed the paint 4 hours ahead of time per the instructions for uv resistance 1st coat and overnight second 2 coats, had to re stir afterwards, it clumps back up. It is setting in full sun on a conex box, should get a better feel for the uv resistance next time I'm at my dad's. Eastwood has 2 part epoxy rattle cans, but it isn't cost effective for large parts at 25 bucks a can. I have used some, but the parts are still in boxes. Best of luck with whatever direction you go, any paint is better than none.

SPI is an awesome product! It gets my vote, and there forum is second to none when you have a question. As is there tech line, which is answered by the company owner Barry.

I thought I'd add a pic of SPI black epoxy on my inner fenders that I shot yesterday if anyone was wondering what it looks like. This is 3 coats of epoxy and won't require a topcoat to make them look good. They'd look even better if I knew how to paint.
