Mine was a red 1986 Toyota Corolla GT 16v. Fun little car. If I only I had known a bit more about the tuner scene back then... That car was the foundation for import tuners of today.

From mom, which totally pissed off my older brother: a 56 Chevy 2 door coupe with a 350 and a 4-speed saginaw with a short throw shifter. Dropped the driveline one night when I was supposed to be at auto shop. Cracked the trans because there was no rear mount. Put a TH400 in it and an axle with 2:89 gears. A nice highway car then.

From grandpa, which pissed off my brother even more: a 65 Chevy 3/4 ton fleetside with a 283 and an sm420 and 4:56 rear end. Highway speed the little 283 turned 4,000 rpms to stay up with traffic. Found a rear end from a 69 truck or van, not sure because it was just half a frame with the axle bolted to it. It had 3:54 gears and I paid $50 for it. Didn't have the tools with me to unbolt it, but I had a hack saw. So I cut through the u-bolts to free it. Good thing I was young and in decent shape, that was brutal. The truck was much better down the road after that mod.

I had one too! A white one. That little thing was fun as hell especially after I dropped in a 1.6 DOHC turbo from a Lotus Elan. Also had a 1987 Spectrum turbo.

68 GMC LWB 3/4 ton for 50 bucks (no motor), but had a granny four speed, bought a buddies 75 Impala, for 200 bucks, pulled the motor, sold the tranny for 300 bucks. Sold the body to a junk yard for 200 bucks. Drove the piss out of that truck until I bought my 71 Blazer.

Due to getting hit while riding a bike I didn't get my first car til I was 18, I lent my brother money and with him unable to pay me back he gave me his 88 Prelude Si with transmission problems. It was a fast car when before he ruined the transmission but weighed just over 1800 stock.

Since I needed a car my mom got me a 2001 Cavalier coupe with a 5 speed, this was a strict base model what had an aftermarket head, speakers and 17" wheels. I cracked one driving in the snow about a year after getting the car and put it on stock 14" wheels.

I got my first truck not long after I turned 21, a 1994 S10 Xcab 4cyl 5 speed that had a few coolant leaks, I got rid of it after the frame bent in an accident 2 months ago, It was going to be a v8 conversion.

In February I got my current daily 07 TB which is almost exactly how I would have ordered one, I would have picked a darker color interior.

Technically, I've had my 1988 since I was 15 I think, but its been in storage the entire time.

I had a 1983 Celebrity for a winter/DD so I didn't totally ruin my SS. Bought it for $200 from my uncle, that's all the dealer would do for a trade in for it, and ran it for about four years. It had a carb'd V6 that would hardly get out of it's own way. I beat the hell out of that thing any which way I saw fit and it never let me down. Ended up selling it for $300 when I bought my grandpa's 1988 Olds 98.

I was supposed to have a '66 Barracuda as my first car, but it didn't pan out.

I first learned to drive in this, an 87 Volvo wagon, Lamorghini Orange with Prismatique orange flames over dark orange ghost flames. I guess my dad didn't want me getting away with any anonymous hijinx around town...

Probably where part of my affinity for the squarebody came from...

I only drove that in the winters and until I got this baby finished up. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/254986/1966-volkswagen-beetle/

Then I had this for a while too, around the same time.

The perks of having a dad with a body shop and a serious addiction to buying cars... :pimp:

My first vehicle was a 1988 Ford Ranger 4x2 ext cab 2.9l with a 5spd. I loved that truck and if I could find another clean one I would have it today. I know this is a chevy site, but I love all cars. I know this isn’t traditionally cool, but I still loved it. I put explorer wheels on it, white letter tires, I learned to polish on this truck. I’d put the topper that came with it on for a weekend and go camping with my friends. It got over 20 mpg when gas was under a dollar a gallon. Lots of great memories.

As a kid, my uncle had a Ranger extended cab like that... he put a Chevy 350 in it.... would snap your head back when he got on the gas. Especially sitting sideways in the little flip-down seats in the back... haha!

What I consider my first car was a 64 Grand Prix and also at the same time, shortly after getting it, had a 62 Chevy PU. I've pretty much always and forever had at least 2 vehicles and always prefered older ones and working on them.
