Got in several hours of work while the wife was away. Changed the gear oil in the 4-speed manual trans, a full one gallon drain and fill, did get a bit messy. Also changed the 1/2" npt drain and fill plugs to magnetic plugs ($8 each on Amazon from Crimp Supply).
Installed two LOUD horns behind the grill:

Modifying the underside of the hood one last time, wasn’t clearing the cowling as it went up it would catch - getting there slowly.

There were some holes drilled in the bed already that I’d guess had eye bolts through ‘em at some point. I hammered the deformed holes flat, drilled to 7/16”, drilled a few more holes and installed stainless rivnuts to hold tiedown hooks. I can say the youtube “bolt/washer/nut” combo was a PITA to install the rivnuts. I shoulda just bought the tool and I woulda been done in 10 minutes instead of 90. I’ll bolt the tiedowns in after I finish my DIY bedliner (Monstaliner).

Put the bed back on today. Chain hoist and beam worked perfectly. No help needed.

Was in the process of replacing the steering stabilizer(dampener). The old one came off fairly easily and was loose as a Goose so I was very excited to be replacing with a new one that was toight like a toiger. Then realized these are different bolts and different shocks completely. I looked up exact fit for my truck on Ranchos website got the part number then found it at a NAPA. Somehow things aren't alike. New bolt for the extending side of the stabilizer doesn't fit through my tie rod end. Copying and pasting this to a thread about this...

Ive been scouting around here for a little bit and wanted to share too. The information you guys have here is as good as you can find anywhere. I picked up a super honest original truck.1977 K20 with a 350 SM465 Np205 14bff and dana44....the tag says 4:09 gears. Supposed to have lived most of its life in Wrightwood California. Here she is the day I got her home. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post. I'm mentally incompetent pretty much
