eyes n ears out for 56" or 61" rear springs for the K10. I started messaging folks with chevy parts on FB lol. Thought screw it, if they are offering a hood/etc maybe.....few promising replies.

Haha normally I would but I just found out last night that my grandpa is in the hospital so being around for him and family is the priority right now. Plus Jesse's crew leaves for Road America tomorrow through next Monday anyway so I can't get it any sooner than next week

Update, (sorry no pics) I ended up driving north into Whatcom County to the next town, Lynden. Turns out Ethanol Free gas grown on every tree up there, and it’s a nice straight 10 mile cruise up there.

So I gassed up and stopped by Bailey’s Classic Collision. Apparently it’s the shop that does all the work for the custom places around Bellingham.

I told him about the rust hidden under the windshield and described what I’d like done in the future (not concours, but not a get-by job either) and he said that he’d do new rockers both sides, and a passenger door, and the rest he could make work. He said to expect 10-15k for the job and to make it look like it should.

56" springs were optional on all squares and will bolt right up, even if you originally had the 52" springs. You will just need to move the rear spring hanger to the rear set of pre-drilled holes in the frame. 61" springs will only be from GMT-400 Suburban/yukons. 63" will be GMT-400 and later trucks. 61 and 63" rear springs will require moving the front spring mount and crossmember forward 4", which will also require either having 16 gallon saddle tanks on a long bed or moving to a single rear blazer/suburban tank. I have a rear blazer EFI tank and 61" springs from a 97 K2500 Suburban on my 1980 K20 and they do ride much nicer than the original 8 leaf pack. I've been thinking about getting a 63" K1500 truck spring pack and using airbags to make up the load capacity in the future... we'll see if I ever get around to it.

Attempted to tighten my power steering belt…used a ratchet strap this time instead of a crow bar. Worked really well, no more noise. Also decided to unscrew an interior trim piece and 30 min later the interior was gutted. Keeping the seat and will reuse as much as possible of the panels. Will recover the existing headliner board. Driver side floor is rusted through and both rocker panels will need work. Hosed it all out and got it really clean. Smells a lot better! After I fix the floor I’ll recarpet but that’s a ways off. Anyways, thought I’d share pics.

the set I looked at today (trusting the sellers reading on the tape) was 64 (guessing 63 actual). It was on a long bed GMT400.
Do I want 63's on a k10? Thx for a reminder on the info.

I like your orange belts. 40 years ago my neighbor's dad had an orange Square. Pretty sure it was factory paint, but I don't remember the interior color. Just curious, did GM do a factory interior with orange belts?

Bought this truck from my neighbors and that was the one thing they changed after owning it for 20 years. They didn’t swap the lap belts so I just removed those since I will never use them, they were the same “oyster/mystic” color. I like the orange too, it’s fun but I don’t think they offered it as an option. I would have to look at more brochures and do googling. They are GM belts though, not sure where they bought them.
