Swept out the bed and was wondering what kinda bed spray or something I could put on it. Even with a paint roller that's not too expensive. I'm gonna have to strip off that black stuff that's coming off first.

Should I clean it up then primer it and then put the liner on? Think that would be better than just bare metal.

Look into Durabak. They have great products, and prices are good. I'm going to completely paint my Blazer with their paint when it comes time.

Love those bumpers. I had one when I lived in Cali, it didn't make the move to Texas.

I think it'll look good on there, not sure about the receiver tube on the bottom, but once I get it in hand I'll figure it out.

The bed floor has some flaws but is in damn good shape, and I’d rather not spend the time and resources for a surface that will be used from time to time, and would rather just put a durable product over it that will hide some of the flaws.

Got the doors to shut with the single "click" method after doing the PEX trick on the door strikers. Man, that's the easiest thing I've done on my truck. Also gonna finally fix that high beam with condensation in it that's been bugging me...

@82sbshortbed how much do you want to spend? Easton did a basic primer and got Raptor liner on Scamazon and sprayed his bed. Been on a year now with little noticeable wear and tear

It in the “fix your slamming doors thread” or something like that. If your door striker posts are missing that little plastic piece from the factory, get a cheap piece of 1/2” PEX from you local Lowe’s or whatever, cut it to fit and snap it on. Works like a charm.

I tried that krap on my snomachine trailer wheels. Because at the time I was considering buying new wheels that weren’t 50% chrome/50% rust.
Ya I’d never use it on anything I care for, except maybe pliers handles, lol.
But surprisingly it’s held up pretty well to being parked 362 days per year and 3 days of snow and road salt exposure!

It’d be interesting to hear how well any of these “quality” diy bedliners hold up after say 5 or 10 years and some moderate use.
I haven’t tried any of them in a long time after trying 2 different “expensive” diy liners (like 20+ years ago) and both were krap.
1 of them would have made a nice trunk liner spray. It was beautiful. And held up to light use with pathetic UV protection. The other made me wish I hadn’t put it on, only a short time later.
Both trucks got a drop in liner when I put for sale sign on them, to hide the ugly.

I’m sure they’re better now, but you never hear the long term test results it seems.
@82sbshortbed, you get out what you put into prep. Idk what your expectation of the trucks appearance is, but whatever is in the bed now needs to go if it’s peeling. Arm yourself with wire wheels, flapper discs and at least a case of beer and get er stripped down if you want great results with any new coating.
Btw, paint looks ok in a truck bed and bed mats are like $100 to keep most of the scratchys away.

Actually one of the first things I did when I got mine. I had a 1 ft pc left from a project. Worked so well that I cut the whole pc up into "bushings" and carry them in a bag behind the seat. Anytime I am at a show or get together and someone has trouble shutting their doors I just give them a couple and help put them on.
