I bought my new tank and straps from them although I got a 20 gallon. They are nice pieces. Why not just get two 20 gallon tanks instead? The price difference isn't much. I got the Platinum Pro tank...

It says on the website that the 16 gallon tanks are for shortbed trucks so I figured the 20 gallon tanks wouldn't fit. The 20 gallon tanks are actually $4 cheaper. I'm also looking at the platinum pro tanks

I would also get tanks for 87 instead of 84. Not much of a cost difference either but the 87 tanks are baffled 4 in tank electric fuel pump. In the event you convert to TBI, vortec or LS then you already have the right tanks.

The 87 tanks are also about $4 cheaper. Would I also have to swap the sending units if I switch to the 87 tanks or would the ones I have right now work?

True, at least the ones I know of. This one has stuff missing, but
seems pretty roadworthy. I'm gonna fix a couple things, make a
couple of runs, the usual. Hoping for the best!

Got lots done Friday:

-Sealed up the roof market lights. Hopefully that will cure my cab leak...

-Wife brought home a dye penetrant black light so I could check the A/C for leaks... No leaks but the A/C still dont work!

-She also brought me an industrial brake bleeder and HOT DAMN I HAVE BRAKES!!! I had no idea how squishy they were until I drove to work this morning!

-I also got around to installing the j/y grille I got. I couldnt get the center trim off though so I kept it black and decided to paint the headlight bezels black too. What do you think?

today i rebuilt my speedometer and fixed my shift dial so my wife wont complain about driving it anymore. two problems fixed today only one more to go loose steering only loose going to the right have to see what i can find see what else i broke in college making it not turn right.

new 85 c10

new user, bought this 85 c10 this weekend from a friend of the family, hasn't run in 3.5 years. motors been prettied up a bit. towed it 10 miles to my parents home with no power brakes(exciting but uneventful really) and started tinkering. noticed some wires hanging on exhaust manifolds, so i zip-tied them up. some were burnt pretty good, unfortunately. put fresh gas in the tank, carb, and dads battery from his cummins and it started right up, momentarily. did that a few times, then had to leave for my place, 450 miles away.
so the truck is at my parents, he called monday and said he had it running for 30 minutes, plugged a few air leaks, and asked how much i wanted for it haha.

been looking at wiring harnesses, as i think i might replace mine as everything seemed weak and many burned wires, (motor was swapped and wires weren't tidy and put away) does anyone know if i need to buy aftermarket gauges if i replace my engine wiring harness with something like painless, ezwiring, etc?
I would like to change wiring harness and keep original gauges.

I don't have great pics as i am so far away now and my brother only took a couple when i was there.

so, today i've been researching wiring harnesses and th400 to sm465 swaps, as every vehicle i own is standard.
